The DCSD K-12 Visual Arts curriculum guarantees that students across the district have common quality learning experiences in not only the creation of art but also in the art elements and design principles central to art-making. Big ideas are based in relevant problems connected to culture and history, and in art criticism, meaning the ways of analyzing and judging art through discussion and writing using the language and vocabulary of the arts.
