Stepping Stones is a collaboration between Davenport Community Schools, the City of Davenport Parks and Recreation Department, and Iowa State University Extension. Please enjoy the following video, as Stepping Stones staff members take time to reflect on the award-winning out of school time program, its impact on students, and what each of them learn while working with students
Stepping Stones is not your typical after school program. The strength of our program lies in the strength of the partnership between Davenport Community Schools; Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, Scott County; and the City of Davenport Parks and Recreation. Together, we deliver a strong foundation of Academics, Enrichment, and Recreation.
The Davenport Community School District’s goal is to enhance each student’s abilities by providing a quality education enriched by our diverse community. With nearly 30 school buildings serving Blue Grass, Buffalo, Davenport and Walcott, Davenport Community Schools are resource-rich, blending student and family support programs with a wide array of curricular offerings to create a quality learning environment for all students. As the third largest School District in the State of Iowa, the Davenport Community School District employs more than 2,000 education professionals to teach nearly 14,000 students in our community.
