Davenport Community Schools participates in the College Board Advanced Placement (AP) Program. Any student interested in taking an AP course has the option to do so.
All AP Educators in Davenport Schools attend the week-long College Board Advanced Placement Teacher Training Institute prior to teaching at the AP level and return to training at least once every 5 years. These highly trained educators are on staff at each of our high schools for each of the AP courses offered.
The following AP courses run each year when there is sufficient enrollment:

Students in AP courses have the option to take the corresponding AP Exam, which are administered at each High School during a two-week period in May. More than 90% of colleges and universities in the United States and Canada have a policy granting incoming students exemption from, or credit for, corresponding courses for qualifying AP exam scores. The individual college should be contacted for further information.
The AP Exam schedule can be viewed here. For more information, please explore the information at College Board: AP Students or contact Michael Wells (wellsmi@davenportschools.org).
