4/26/23: The West Art Department would like to congratulate all the students who had work selected to be displayed at this year's QC Arts Highschool Invitational. West had 5 students take home awards, Bella Davis, Natalie Peppers, Abbey Young, Jadyn Weiser, and Joe Beers. If you didn't get the chance to see the show the work is coming back to West and will be displayed in the LMC starting next week. Congratulations to our award winners and everyone who had work selected to be displayed. Great Job Falcons!!! Check out this slide show.
1/26/23: The West Art Department would like to congratulate the students that were selected to have their work displayed in the Davenport Community Schools District Secondary Art Exhibit. The show officially opened January 26th and will run through February 13th . The show is located at North Park Mall between JC Penny and Von Maur. Please give these students an extra congratulation. This is a great cross section representing all grades at West High School and different medias.
5/13/22: The West Art Department would like to give a huge congratulations to Leart Damoni. Leart is a junior in our art program. He submitted a portfolio of 10 works to be rated by college professors for the state of Iowa. Yesterday, it was announced that Leart was 1 of only 7 students selected for 4A in the state of Iowa to be recognized as an Iowa All-State Member. This is a huge honor that West has not had in quite a few years. We hope that Leart can inspire are group of upcoming students for next year. If you see him, give him a big congratulations!
5/9/22: The West High Art Department would like to say congratulations to Bella Davis on being voted the Quad City Arts People's Choice Award. There were 135 works on display at the Quad City Arts for a month and Friday was the last day to vote. Bella was selected as the most liked piece and will receive $100 for winning the People's Choice Art Award. Way to go Bella!! 
4/21/22:
QC Arts - 2022 video
The art department is excited to share the news about awards won at Quad City Arts and also make you aware of the on-line vote for People's Choice. Of the 136 works on display from across the Quad Cities, we currently have the votes for 1st and 2nd place for Peoples Choice, but could still use more votes to keep this going. We currently have 19 students and 1 teacher work on display at Quad City Art in Rock Island until April 28th and you can check it out in person and see the 5 major awards that we received. The voting for People's Choice is through Quad City Arts Facebook page and just based on number of likes per picture. Thanks for your support to the arts!

ART CLUB - WE are having ART CLUB!!!!!
Do you want to be part of the Art Club at West High School? If so come to room 121 right after school. It is FREE. This is open to students AND faculty. No art talent required just a desire to become great. Any questions ask a West art instructor. Hope to see you then.
Art Club will meet on Thursday, September 23 after school in room 121. A representative from the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD) will visit with us. See any Art teacher with questions.
