Buchanan Elementary School Pickup & Drop Off of Students

Due to safety/security concerns, there is no parking in the fire lanes. If entering the building, please park in the parking lot.

Arrival

• Supervision on the playground begins at 7:40. Students should not arrive at school before 7:40 unless eating breakfast.
• Students eating breakfast (7:30-7:55) should be dropped off at the front door (1W) to enter.
• Students not eating breakfast should continue to pull around for drop off next to the playground (7:40-8:00).
  • Grades K-2 proceed to Primary Playground at the south of the building and line up or walk the perimeter.
  • Grades 3-5 proceed to Upper Playground at the north of the building and line up or walk the perimeter
• 8:00 students enter through front door (1W).
• For your child’s safety, please have them exit on the passenger side.
• In case of inclement weather, (rain or temps below 15 with wind chill) beginning at 7:40 students may enter through the front door (1W) to sit in the hallway outside their classroom.

Dismissal

• Pull around to the north side of the building to begin forming 1 line of cars.
• Please remain in your car and place student card (received at Unpack Your Backpack) on right side of dash.
• Adults will load the first 4 cars. As those cars exit, the line will continue to move forward for loading.
• If your student is not outside, you will be asked to pull in front of the dumpsters to wait.
• To be as efficient and safe as possible, students will be loaded on the passenger side.
