Monroe Elementary School’s mission statement so accurately states, “Monroe is a diverse community.” Our community includes faculty, staff, and volunteers as well as the students, parents, families, friends, and neighbors. The West End of Davenport is a wonderful community where neighbors look out for each other and want the best for each other. Monroe is a neighborhood school in every sense of the word. We couldn’t be prouder of our school and the work we are doing, and the learning environment at Monroe is second to none. Monroe Elementary in Davenport provides English as a Second Language (ESL) intensive programs to English Language Learners within the school. These programs are taught by ELL certified teachers and specially trained paraeducators. ELL teachers meet with students daily, many times meeting in the regular classroom to support students’ academic learning with classroom curriculum. The ESL program at Monroe Elementary serves the South Region of the Davenport Community School District.
