The Iowa Immunization Law requires that parents of all children attending schools in Iowa provide written proof of immunizations. No Child May Attend School without a Certificate of Immunization, except under circumstances outlined or specified in the State of Iowa laws or codes.
Immunizations are state required:

IDHHS is mandating that there will be NO exceptions for lack of immunizations at the 7th and 12th grade levels for vaccines upon entering school, unless there is a religious exemption or medical exemption on file for the student:
