The Wood Intermediate 7-8th Grade Select Choirs performed at the University of Iowa’s Hospital and Clinics on Friday, December 12 to a variety of patients, families and staff. Mrs. Sawyer’s Social Studies classes completed their research on Ancient Egypt and created projects to teach their class about topics to include housing, food, mummification, games, pyramids, economy, clothing, art and architecture.
On Thursday, November 13th, fourteen Wood grade band students participated in the Davenport District Sixth Grade Honor Band. Students travelled to North High School where they spent the day rehearsing under the direction of Gary Ciccotelli. A concert was presented in the Paul Holzworth Auditorium that evening. On October 30th, eighty-four student musicians traveled to Cedar Rapids Prairie High School Center for the Performing Arts to participate in the annual Eastern Iowa Choral Clinic.
