    Falcon and Owl Visit

    Dan Murcia from the Wapsi River Environmental Education Center of Scott County delighted 4th grade students by bringing a rescued great horned owl and peregrine falcon for a school visit.     Opera singers at Walcott School

    On Thursday, March 9th opera singers Karen Slack (soprano), Eleni Matos (mezzo-soprano), Vale Rideout (tenor), and Dean Elzinga (bass-baritone) performed for the Walcott students.  Students heard a variety of famous arias and recitatives.  It was a terrific performance! Read more

    100 Years 100 Cellos

    Picture1  Mrs. Blackburn’s 8th grade 3D art class has designed a cello for the 100 Years 100 Cellos celebration for the Quad Cities Symphony’s 100th Anniversary.   This 3D art will be on display for the anniversary concert this spring featuring world famous cellist Yo-Yo Ma. It has already been on display at the John Deere Commons.
