Additional Info about the Event: Sarah Ruhl’s haunting version of the Orpheus and Eurydice tragedy focuses on love, loss, and memory- from the perspective of Eurydice and her father. The play is presented in three movements with no intermission.

Participants and Program: The West, North, and Central High Schools will present their IHSMA State Marching Band Contest Shows. Smart, Sudlow, Walcott, Williams, and Wood Junior High Bands will take the field and perform three short selections as one massed ensemble. For the GRAND FINALE the three high school bands will join the intermediates on the field to close the show with a medley of You’re A Grand Old Flag and America, The Beautiful!

Additional Information: This event will feature the Sudlow 7th-8th grade orchestra, as well as the CHS 9th grade orchestra, 10th-12th grade orchestra, and chamber orchestra. The event will also feature a 9-12th grade collaborative piece as well as a 7th-12th collaborative piece. Students are encouraged to wear costumes and there will be candy prizes for the best costumes.

Participants and Program: Grades 7- 8 Orchestra students from ALL five Intermediate Schools - Smart, Sudlow, Walcott, Williams, and Wood, will rehearse and perform in concert with a guest Clinician/Conductor. The student string ensemble will rehearse for 3 hours and then perform a concert for parents and guests in the West High School Large Gym. Rehearsal is from 1:00 – 4:00 PM, with the performance beginning at 5:00 PM. The concert will end by 5:30.
