Davenport Central High School Hall of Honor Awards Eight Scholarships

Recipients meet high academic and community standards

The Davenport Central Hall of Honor recently awarded eight Hall of Honor scholarships to current Central Students. The Hall of Honor scholarships are valued at $1,500 and are awarded to students that meet high academic and community standards.

The Central Hall of Honor was started in the 1980s under the leadership of Principal Don Fisher. The Hall of Honor is privately funded by donations from alumni, community members, and local businesses.

In addition to honoring Davenport Central High School alumni, the Hall of Honor has awarded nearly $200,000 in scholarships to Central graduates. Since its inception, 200 scholarships have been awarded, in addition to the eight scholarships awarded this year.

2024 scholarship recipients are:

  • The Hester Scholarship | Netty Kantner
  • The Meyer Scholarship | Khaliah Knox
  • The Jurgens Scholarship | Carson Ford
  • The Kneipp Family Scholarship | Margo Fey
  • The Groenenboom Scholarship | Carter Belby
  • Fisher At-Large Scholarship | Grace Brandt, Hannah Cousins, Jack Stremlow
