The Local School Improvement Advisory Committee (LSIAC) is appointed by the Board of Education of the Davenport Community School District in compliance with Iowa Code 280.12. LSIAC offers the Board recommendations on major educational needs and student learning goals.
Areas addressed by this group include, but are not limited to: student academic achievement, teacher quality/evaluation, district graduation/dropout rates, school climate (including issues such as bullying prevention, attendance, homeless youth), and student enrichment programs including the arts, athletics and out of school time.
LSIAC consists of members representing the local community, which may include representatives of business/industry, labor, higher education, community agencies, parents, students, teachers, and administrators. Members are appointed annually with the goal of maintaining balanced representation.
