The Science, Technology, Engineering Arts and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.) education at Buffalo Elementary creates an integrated, innovative, learning environment. The S.T.E.A.M. approach facilitates a learning experience driven by problem-solving, discovery and exploratory learning. S.T.E.A.M. learning promotes student readiness for college or careers and prepares students for a 21st century workforce. In addition to using a project-based and hands-on approach for learning, Buffalo Elementary has implemented Iowa’s first SmartLab, call the Buffalo STEAM Lab. In this learning experience, students collaborate, problem solve, and think critically. Students have opportunities to work with robotics, architecture pieces, engineering, coding, graphic arts and so much more!
