Books on the Blacktop

The Davenport Community School District (DCSD) is excited to announce a partnership with the Davenport Public Library to launch the Books on the Black Top Program for the 2026 summer. Designed to bring literacy resources directly to local neighborhoods, DPL Outreach Wheeled Library (OWL)  will be visiting elementary schools across the district, offering students and families easy access to books and summer reading activities. This mobile library experience is packed with opportunities for fun and learning. At each stop, students can:

• Pick up Summer Reading logs
• Learn about exciting reading prizes
• Sign up for a library card
• Check out books
• And enjoy a refreshing popsicle while they browse!
