Davenport Schools Foundation Welcomes Steve Ahrens as New Executive Director

The Davenport Schools Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Ahrens as its new Executive Director, effective May 1, 2025. With a deep commitment to education and community engagement, Ahrens brings a wealth of experience and visionary leadership to the foundation.

“We are thrilled to welcome Steve to the Davenport Schools Foundation,” said Tim Chen, Board President. “His expertise and passion for education and our community will help us continue to support students, teachers, and schools in meaningful ways.”

With an extensive background in public sector and nonprofit managerial leadership experience, Ahrens also serves as Director of Strategic Initiatives at Common Chord and previously served as Executive Officer for Davenport’s Riverfront Improvement Commission and St. Ambrose University’s Director of Alumni and Parent Relations. Ahrens also served on the Davenport City Council as Alderman at Large.

Steve is a collaborative and innovative leader that brings more than 25 years of experience as an exceptional fundraising and community development leader. He is committed to fostering educational opportunities and strengthening community partnerships for the students of today and in the future. Steve holds both an MBA and an undergraduate degree in Public Administration and Political Science from St. Ambrose University.
