The Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) is required to be administered to all students in grades 3-11 across the state of Iowa between March 9 and May 8, 2026. Important notes as you help your student prepare for the ISASP tests:

  • Chromebooks are needed for testing - remind students to make sure they are charged and ready to go.
  • Talk with your student about getting a good night's rest and putting forth their best effort on all tests of the ISASP.
  • Attendance matters more than ever during this testing window - ensure your student gets to school on time.
  • For test security purposes, the state does not allow phones or any smart devices in the testing area.  Students will be asked to turn off and secure cell phones and other personal technology devices following the building guidelines. Contact the main office if an emergency arises and you need to connect with your student.
  • Practice tests for each ISASP content area and grade level listed above are available to the public online. These resources are available to anyone with internet access; you do not need a password or a user account. Your student will be oriented to the online testing environment and engage with these practice tests at school, but we invite you and your student to also engage with these resources at home. These practice tests can be found at http://iowa.pearsonaccessnext.com/test-prep/.

Online-only learners in grades 3-8 must take the ISASP assessment at their assigned school site. Each building site will send more detailed information regarding the schedule.

Online-only learners in grades 9-11 will take their assessment at the Administration Center. Additional information will be sent soon regarding the schedule and procedures.

Individual student results from the ISASP will be available in late summer or early fall of 2026. DCSD is committed to providing a quality testing experience for all students. We look forward to working with your student throughout the assessment process. If you have any questions, please contact the school principal
