New Administrators Announced for the 2025-2026 School Year

The Davenport Community School District is pleased to announce recent selections for district administrators for the 2025-2026 school year, pending board approval.

Williams Middle School Principal

Ellen Weishaar has been selected as the new Williams Middle School Principal, succeeding Eric Johnson who was recently announced as the new North High School Principal for the 2025-2026 school year.

Weishaar has served as the Assistant Principal of Williams Middle School since 2021. She previously has served as a teacher, innovator and coach in the Davenport School District.

Weishaar earned a Bachelor’s Degree in education from the University of Northern Iowa and a Master of Education in Curriculum Design and Assessment from Walden University.

Harrison Elementary School Principal

Dr. Tia Stevens-Hicks has been selected as the new Harrison Elementary School Principal, succeeding Tom Green who will retire at the end of the school year.  

Stevens-Hicks is currently the Dean of Students for the Pleasant Valley Community School District. She has also previously served as a teacher, administrator and assistant principal for the Killeen ISD in Killeen, Texas.

Stevens-Hicks earned a Bachelor's Degree in elementary education from Chaminade University of Honolulu. She earned a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the American College of Education and a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Abilene Christian University.

Director of Secondary Learning and Results

Michael Vukovich has been selected as the Director of Secondary Learning and Results.

Vukovich currently serves as the District’s CTE Curriculum Specialist and has over 20 years of experience in education across Georgia and Iowa. He previously served as the Director of High Schools in Des Moines Public Schools.

Vukovich earned a Bachelor's Degree in education from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. He earned a Master of Education Administration from Iowa State University.
