Strengths & Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) at DCSD
Overview of the SDQ
The Strengths & Difficulties Questionnaire is a valuable tool designed to assess behavioral and emotional strengths and difficulties in children and young people. This survey will help DCSD better understand the mental health needs of our students and ensure they receive the appropriate support.
Administration Details
- Grades Involved: 4th, 6th, and 9th
- Method of Administration:
- 4th Grade: Teachers will complete the survey on behalf of their students.
- 6th and 9th Grades: Students will complete the survey independently.
- Timeline: The survey will be conducted during the months of October and November.
- Parents/Guardians will receive an email and form to provide signed consent. Students will not participate without signed parental consent. The deadline to fill out the consent form is October 9.
Purpose of the SDQ
The primary aim of the SDQ is to gather insights into the emotional and behavioral strengths and challenges faced by students. The data collected will be instrumental in identifying areas where additional support may be needed, enabling us to provide tailored resources for our students' mental health.
