JB Young Opportunity Center
The J.B. Young Opportunity Center was created following the closure of J.B. Young as a K-8 school with the end of the 2015-2016 school year. The Davenport Community Schools now uses the first floor of the facility to house services that are assets for the neighborhood and community.
Currently, eight organizations and programs are tenants of the J.B. Young Opportunity Center (1st floor of the building). Organizations include:
- Boys and Girls Club of the Mississippi Valley
- Safer Foundation QC
- ProStart Culinary Arts
- Davenport Community Food Pantry – a partnership of Vine Ministry and River Bend Food Bank.
- Madison Market – a partnership of St. Paul Lutheran, River Bend Food Bank and Madison Elementary
- The Davenport School Museum
