The North High School Music Scholarship, up to $500 award to be presented each spring to a senior who has participated in music programs all four years of high school. The amount of the award may vary depending on the fund’s investment performance in any given year.
This scholarship is being made possible by a gift from Mr. John Wiese of Davenport. His late wife, Hanae Fujiwara Wiese, was a music teacher in Davenport Schools for many years. She passed away in 2004. Mr. Wiese passed away in 2022. He and his family provided funding following her death as a tribute to Hanae and her students.
There is no application process. Students who have participated in North High School music programs, and who have maintained a 3.25 GPA or received a 24 or better on the ACT test will be considered. Need, extra-curricular and community involvement will also be lesser considerations. Music faculty will nominate and make the final determination of scholarship awards.
