District Wide Scholarships

• Amount of Scholarship: $500 (Amount may vary according to earnings)
• Number Offered Each Year:   In most years four scholarships are awarded.  One to each DCSD high school.
• Need Basis: Given consideration
• Qualifications: graduating DCSD senior, regular attendance, extracurriculars, intention to attend a career technical training program.
• Students entering a four-year college are not eligible.
• Obligations: Letter of recommendation from DCSD teacher in the career-technical program, and eventual enrollment in an accredited 2- or 3-year career-technical training program.

• Need Basis: High consideration
• Qualifications: Graduate by June from Davenport Schools with at least a 2.75 GPA.
• Obligations: This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from Davenport Community Schools who is intent on entering the field of education – as a teacher, administrator, counselor, coach, etc. Must submit FAFSA Estimated Financial Contribution score, a personal essay (limit 1,000 words), and a letter of reference.

For Military/First Responders

• Amount of Scholarship: $1000 (Expected minimum award. Amount may change according to earnings.)
• Number Offered Each Year: One
• Qualifications: Applicants must be interested in serving in the military or as a first responder such as police, fire, EMT, and similar occupations. They must have graduated from a Davenport Community Schools high school by the last day in June while maintaining an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher.  
• Obligations: Applicants must have demonstrated the spirit necessary for a successful military/first responder career. A current transcript of grades is required and applicants must submit an essay (300 words max) explaining their career goals. A letter of recommendation is required from an individual well acquainted with the applicant and his/her career goals.
