Weapon Detection System
The Davenport Community School District remains committed to ensuring a safe learning environment for all of our students and staff. In December, the Davenport School Board approved the purchase of weapons detection and door monitoring systems across all middle and high schools in the district. These systems will supplement our current security measures and will be used to screen students and visitors.
DCSD continually evaluates and enhances its safety protocols to provide a secure atmosphere for learning. The addition of these detection systems is designed to further deter potential threats and provide an extra layer of protection for both students and staff.
Please take a moment to watch the following video for important information about these weapon detection systems and how they will be used to screen students and visitors to the buildings.
If you have any questions, please contact your building administrator. Thank you for your partnership in ensuring a safe learning environment for all students.
