DCSD Cell Phone Policy & Expectations
Last year, Governor Reynolds passed HF782, which prohibits the use of cell phones during instructional time. DCSD’s cell phone policy, which states that cell phones are to be off and away during instructional time, is already in compliance with HF782. This year, DCSD will be prioritizing consistent implementation of cell phone expectations across all buildings to provide a distraction free classroom environment where your student can thrive academically.

Cell Phone Expectations
Elementary and Middle School
No Cell Phones Allowed During the Academic Day
High School
Limited Access Allowed. Students will be allowed to use cell phones during passing time and lunch.
Progressive Discipline
Students who do not follow the District’s cell phone policy will face progressive discipline as shown below:
