National History Day: October 2006

JB National History Day participants took a study trip to the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum on Monday, October 23, 2006. Ten students who are considering doing National History Day projects went on the study trip to meet with the archivists and staff of the library. During the morning session, they learned about National History Day, primary and secondary sources, the differences between an archive and a library, and how to evaluate websites.
In the afternoon sessions, they went to a workshop about one of the four formats that they can use for presenting their research: exhibit board, research paper, presentation (play), and documentary. Students who went on the study trip were:
