An Unlikely Combination:

Day of the Dead

and A Presidential Debate

Miss Mihalakis' Spanish I students experienced first hand the Day of the Dead, "el Dia de los Muertos."  On November 1st and 2nd of each year, Mexicans believe the spirits of the deceased return to earth to visit the living each year.  They spend time both at the cemetery and at home celebrating the presence of those who have died.  Shown here are tombstones of the dearly departed.  To the right is a typical altar like those found in most Mexican homes.

Mr. Gamble's classes experienced a presidential debate...that's John Kerry on the left!
Election results:  Kerry, Grassley, and Gluba won.
Latté Drive donated hot chocolate, and the 6th Grade Team supplied cookies and punch.
