    Iowa Brass Quintet

    The Iowa Brass Quintet Blows Away Band Students

    The 6th, 7th, and 8th grade band students attended a concert by the University of Iowa Brass Quintet on Monday April 1st.  The students were bussed to the North High Auditorium for the one hour concert.  It is always great to hear professional musicians perform quality literature and using high technique to inspire our musicians.     Wood Choirs Present Spring Concert

    Wood Orchestra Rocks Super-Hero Spring Tour

    The Wood combined 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade String Orchestras under the direction of Kris Kendell and Michele Nemmers combined to perform four elementary school outreach concerts on Friday, March 1.

    This year’s Tour theme was “Super Hero Music Awards” and featured music from Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, The Avengers, and String Man.

    On February 20, 2013 from 5-7 p.m., students fromWood Intermediate School held a National History Day (NHD) Showcase. This year’s theme was, “Turning Points in History: People, Ideas, Events.” In preparation, students chose topics to research that were 25 years old or older that they had to tie to the theme.     Feb.12-18 was National “Random Act of Kindness Week”
