The Wood combined 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade String Orchestras under the direction of Kris Kendell and Michele Nemmers combined to perform four elementary school outreach concerts on Friday, March 1.

On Monday, February 12, The Quad City Youth Symphony performed at Symphony Day at the Adler Theater.
Reprenting Wood Intermediate School was Ethan Wilkinson in the String Bass section (see picture below).
11 other former Wood (now North) string students were also in the Quad City Youth Symphony string section.
The Wood Intermediate Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) has been sponsoring a candy bar sale from Feb. 11-22. Due to the demand… the drive has been extended until sell-out! The Wood 7-8 Band, Choir and Orchestra will be supporting this drive. Proceeds from this sale will benefit the musician’s concert apparel. Support our music department! BUY A BAR!!!! They cost $1.
In March, the City of Davenport will be celebrating “Youth Art Month.” Davenport mayor William Gluba and the City Council will host an art exhibit and reception showcasing art work form the Davenport Community Schools. Wood Intermediate will be represented with a pencil drawing of downtown Davenport by Jacob Fetes. Congratulations, Jacob!!!
