You may wish to visit with your counselor about any of the following: Special personal concerns or problems, Class schedules, Community counseling resources and programs, High School plans or registration, Career choices, Standardized test results and Eligibility.

 

Ms. McNamara

I graduated from Stephens College, Columbia, Missouri with a BA in Physical Education/Health Education and a minor in recreation in 1978.  I worked at a summer camp in northern Wisconsin for 11 summers where I used those skills directly.  I spearheaded the Diving, Riding & Water-skiing programs at the camp, sports I still feel passionate about today   I received my masters in Counseling and Guidance from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1984.  I will be completing my 10th year as a counselor at Wood during the 06-07 academic year and will be completing my 23rd year as a Counselor.  All but two of those years have been at the Intermediate level, an age group I thoroughly enjoy.  I have worked in schools across the Midwest including Mount Horeb and Meguon, Wisconsin and Lake Forest, Illinois. In addition, I was in the International School System for 10 years, on both the island of Guam in the South Pacific and Santiago, Chile.  I welcomed the opportunity to return to the Midwest & my family.  I enjoy the Davenport Community School System and believe it to be an environment rich for students to learn about individual differences & diversity.  I enjoy all sports, travel, and time with family.

 

Mrs. Terronez

As a graduate of the University of Iowa, I bring a combination of education and experience to the staff and students of Wood Intermediate School. My educational background includes a B.A. in Psychology and Journalism and a Master's degree in Social Work. I also have post-graduate coursework and training in the counseling field. My professional experiences include: serving as a School Services Facilitator for the Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency, an Outreach Worker for the Bettendorf Community School District, a Supervisor for Lutheran Services in Iowa, and a Residential Counselor for Family Resources. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, and I am really happy to be able to work with youth as a guidance facilitator at Wood Intermediate!
