Mrs. Awkerman - French |

Bonjour! Je m'appelle Madame Awkerman. I
teach Exploratory French, French I, and Learning
Support. I have been teaching here since the fall of 2003.
I am originally from a small town called Walker, near Baton Rouge,
Louisiana. I am a graduate of Walker High School and
Louisiana State University. In my spare time I am
a voracious reader. I read 15,000 pages for Wood Reads last year!
Some of my favorite authors are Jane Austen; Charlotte
and Anne Brontë, L.M. Montgomery, and Laurie R. King.
I also enjoy cooking, watching movies, spending time with my
husband and my friends, traveling, and improving my French. |

Ms. Klingaman - Spanish |
| Miss Klingaman graduated from Cornell College and has been teaching at Wood for four years. She teaches Spanish Exploratory to 7th graders and Spanish I to 8th graders. Miss K is also in charge of Student Council and coaches volleyball at Wood and softball at Central. In her spare time, she likes to hang out with friends, play sports (volleyball, softball and soccer), and read. |

Greetings! I’m one of the Family and Consumer Science instructors at Wood Intermediate. I graduated from South Dakota State University in 1979 with a B.S. in Family and Consumer Science. I moved to Iowa 25 years ago and certainly feel it’s home now. I enjoy sewing, crafts, playing the piano, gardening, and rubber stamping. I earned my Masters degree in 2004 from Drake. This is my twelfth year of teaching and look forward to many more. |

Mr. Andy Tadlock, a Sioux City, Iowa native enters his twenty-fourth year in choral music education with the past 7 years in the Davenport Community School District. Mr. Tadlock has earned Bachelor of Music and Master of Arts degrees from the University of Iowa in Iowa City. Mr. Tadlock’s choirs have consistently received Superior ratings in national, state, regional and local festivals. His choirs have performed in Florida, Texas, Ohio, Tennessee, Missouri, Nebraska, Illinois and Minnesota. Mr. Tadlock has been recognized as an Outstanding Music Educator Award in Eastern Iowa in 1998 as well as Who’s Who Among American Teachers in 1992, 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2006. Mr. Tadlock is married with 4 grown children. His hobbies include technology and golf. Mr. Tadlock is excited about being a part of the educational experience at Wood Intermediate! |
| I am teaching 6th and 7th grade SCI math this year at Wood. I am originally from Des Moines. I graduated from Simpson College in Indianola, IA and taught for 3 years for Des Moines Public Schools before coming to Davenport Community Schools. I love to read, travel, and spend time at home with my husband and puppy. |

I graduated from Davenport Central High School and Marycrest University with a degree in elementary education. I gained experience working with special needs children while employed at Family Resources in Davenport. I am excited to be at Wood with great students and staff. |
| Ms. Davidson is one of the teachers for students with behavior disorders. She is going into her 4th year of teaching in the Davenport Community School District. Ms. Davidson graduated from Bettendorf High School, received her Bachelor's degree from Iowa State University, and earned her Master's degree from Western Illinois University. In her spare time she enjoys working out, playing with her two dogs, and spending time with her family and friends. |

Hi! My name is Ms. Rangen and this is my sixth year of teaching. I graduated from Western Illinois University with my Bachelor's and master's degree. I enjoy working with the students at Wood. In my free time I love to run, read, and enjoy being with friends and family. |

Mrs. Love is one of the teachers for students with severe/profound handicaps. She graduated from Alleman High School in Rock Island, received her Bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University, her Master's degree from Western Illinois University in Special Education and is going into her 30th year of teaching in the Davenport School District. She has two daughters, one almost 21, who is handicapped and just started living in one of ARC's of Rock Island County's Group Homes and the other who is "severely normal" and a junior at Rock Island High School. Besides teaching, Mrs. Love stays busy with her two daughters' activities, gardening, and just beginning water aerobics. |

This is my second year teaching at Wood Intermediate. I have been teaching both years in the Autistic program. I am originally from Iowa City. I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in Fall 2004. I keep myself busy by coaching the Central Girls Swimming Team and the Bettendorf Swim Club. |

My name is Amanda Bowrey and I am entering my fourth year at Wood Intermediate School as the Health Teacher. I have earned a BS in Health Studies from Eastern Illinois University and a MS in Educational Leadership from Western Illinois University. I enjoy being a part of the Wood staff. I frequently volunteer for the school dances and athletic events. I also serve as the Builder's Club Advisor. My hobbies include spending time with my friends and family, reading watching movies, exercising, and traveling. |

Mr. Tatum - Juvenile Court Liaison |

My name is Rodney Tatum. I am a liaison
between the court system and the schools. I work with students who are
at-risk and/or on probation through the court system. I graduated from
Marycrest College with a B.A. degree in Social Work. I have been working
with young people for thirteen years. This is my eighth year at Wood.
I enjoy spending time with my wife, traveling, watching movies and officiating basketball games. Jeremiah 29:11 - I know what I am planning for you," says the Lord. "I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future. |

I have been teaching art at Wood
Intermediate for nine years. This includes all grade levels with subject
matter of Advanced 3D and Advanced 2D, 7th grade Exploratory, and 6th
grade Exploratory.
Educational background: B.A. degree in Art Education from Marycrest College, M.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Western Illinois University. |
