My name is Laura Anderson. I earned a BA from Loras College in Dubuque, IA with Elementary Education and an endorsement in reading. This is my fifth year teaching and my third year teaching 7th grade reading at Wood Intermediate. In my spare time I like spending time with my family and friends, especially my little sister Rachel. I also like playing sports, grilling out, and watching movies. I have enjoyed coaching both softball and volleyball over the last three years and I currently coach 9th grade volleyball. Please feel free to contact me about your son/daughter’s progress in reading. I am looking forward to a wonderful year at Wood! |

This is my 4th year at Wood Intermediate. I teach 8th grade Reading Workshop and 7th/8th grade Literature. I received my BA in Education from the University of Iowa (Go Hawks!). I am currently working on my Masters in Interdisciplinary Education from Western Illinois. I am married and have 2 boys and 1 dog. I play violin in a string trio with our 6th grade orchestra teacher Mrs. Kendell.

My name is Amanda Bowrey and I am entering my fourth year at Wood Intermediate School as the Health Teacher. I have earned a BS in Health Studies from Eastern Illinois University and a MS in Educational Leadership from Western Illinois University. I enjoy being a part of the Wood staff. I frequently volunteer for the school dances and athletic events. I also serve as the Builder's Club Advisor. My hobbies include spending time with my friends and family, reading watching movies, exercising, and traveling. |

Greetings! I’m one of the Family and Consumer Science instructors at Wood Intermediate. I graduated from South Dakota State University in 1979 with a B.S. in Family and Consumer Science. I moved to Iowa 25 years ago and certainly feel it’s home now. I enjoy sewing, crafts, playing the piano, gardening, and rubber stamping. I earned my Masters degree in 2004 from Drake. This is my twelfth year of teaching and look forward to many more. |

!Hola! My name is Miss Klingaman. I graduated from Cornell College in 2004 and have been teaching at Wood ever since! I teach Spanish Exploratory to 7th graders and Spanish I to 8th graders. I am also in charge of Student Council and am the 8th grade Volleyball coach. In my spare time, I like to hang out with friends and family, play sports (volleyball, softball and soccer), and read.

The new teacher for 7th/8th Grade Orchestra is Michele Nemmers. Michele has been a private teacher and member of the Quad City Symphony Orchestra for the last ten years. She has degrees from Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Michigan, and the University of Iowa. She is happy to be a member of the team at Wood, and is excited about the perfomances this fall! |

| Ciao! I'm Mrs. Pratt and this is my fifth year teaching at Wood Intermediate and my seventh year teaching. I am the Technology Collaborative Teacher here, at Wood. I live in Davenport with my husband, son, and three cats Bella, Ollie, and Lily. I have recently completed a Master's Degree from Iowa State University in Curriculum and Instructional Technology: Go State! I love to hang out with my husband and son, get together with friends, cheer for the Iowa State Cyclones, and try new things! I love teaching middle school students because they are so unique. I look forward to a great year! |

I graduated from St. Ambrose with my degree in Elementary Education with a reading endorsement. Recently graduated from UNI with my Masters in Library Sciences. This is my first year at Wood but was previously at Wilson Elementary for three years. I love to read and my favorite genre is mysteries. Although my new favorite series is the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer. I look forward to seeing all the students using the library and having fun reading. |

Mr. Andrew Tadlock, a Sioux City, Iowa native enters his twenty-fifth year in choral music education with the past 8 years in the Davenport Community Schools District. Mr. Tadlock has earned his Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Arts degrees from the University of Iowa in Iowa City. Mr. Tadlock’s choral ensembles have consistently received Superior and Outstanding ratings in national, regional, state and local competitions. His choirs have performed in Florida, Texas, Ohio, Tennessee, Missouri, Nebraska, Illinois and Minnesota. In the spring of 2008, the Wood Intermediate Concert Choir earned a second consecutive First Place Award including being named Best Choral Ensemble at the Music In The Parks competition held in Chicago, IL. Mr. Tadlock has been recognized as Most Outstanding Music Educator in Eastern Iowa in 1998 and is an eight-time recipient of the now defunct Who’s Who Among American Teachers. He is currently the Assistant Men’s Golf Coach at North High School and the creator of the Wood Golf Club. This club is open to all Wood students and is centered at developing positive character traits as well as nurturing a love for the game of golf. Mr. Tadlock is married with 4 adult children and two grandchildren. His hobbies include technology and golf. Mr. Tadlock is blessed to be teaching among a very talented administration and staff, as well as, some very talented and enthused student musicians at Wood Intermediate. |

grade Exploratory.
