Ms. Borman - Math |

My name is Regan Borman (Regan pronounced as the late president!) I earned my bachelors degree from Western Illinois University in 2003. This is my first year at Wood Intermediate. Previously I taught math in Moline School District and I taught for a year and half at Rivermont Collegiate in Bettendorf. I am from the Quad Cities and currently live in East Moline with my 6 year old daughter, Sarah. She keeps me busy coaching her soccer team and running her to dance and gymnastics! I love to travel and this summer I was able to visit San Francisco and Hawaii. My next trip is to Mexico next summer. I am very excited to be here this year and I look forward to getting to know all my students. Please feel free to contact me with any questions about the curriculum or your student’s progress. |

I earned a BA degree from the
University of Northern Iowa and a MA degree from St. Xavier University. I
received the Distinguished Teaching Achievement Award from the
National Council for Geographic Education, the Middle School Social
Studies Teacher of the Year from the Iowa Council for Social Studies, and
award for Excellence in Teaching. I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel to Canada, Mexico, Netherlands,
Belgium, England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Nigeria, Australia, New
Zealand, Turkmenistan, India, Peru, Jamaica and Japan This has
allowed me to personally experience these countries, their people, and the cultures.
My interests include the Iowa Hawkeyes, boating, reading, traveling, computers, and playing
with my 5 parrots.

My name is Laura Anderson. I earned a BA from Loras College in Dubuque, IA with Elementary Education and an endorsement in reading. This is my third year teaching and my first year teaching 7th grade reading at Wood Intermediate. In my spare time I like spending time with my family and friends, especially my little sister Rachel. I also like playing sports, grilling out, and watching movies. I have enjoyed coaching both softball and volleyball over the last three years and I currently coach 9th grade volleyball. Please feel free to contact me about your son/daughter’s progress in reading. I am looking forward to a wonderful year at Wood! |

My name is Arthur Sinksen. I teach 7th grade Life Science. I graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Junior High/Middle School Education. I began my teaching career at Wood Intermediate in 1998. I was born and raised in Rock Island and most of my family still lives there. I currently live in blue Grass with my wife and adorable twin daughters, Isabel and Paige. I am also lucky enough to work with my wife here at Wood; some of you may remember Renee Sinksen from last year. When I have a few extra moments I enjoy spending time with the twins, golfing, working on projects around the house, and spending time outdoors. |
