I teach seventh grade math. I've been employed by the district for thirty years. |

Mrs. Ramos - Language Arts |
| This is my second year at Wood Intermediate. Previously I worked for nine years as an elementary school teacher. It's amazing to be living my dream of teaching Language Arts at the middle school level. I am well aware of my responsibility to be a positive role model in every way for my students. Through reading and writing, I am given many opportunities to teach and model life skills each day. It is a position that I respect and honor. One day, I hope to write a book with awesome illustrations by my daughter who is an art teacher. I also feel blessed to have a wonderful, loving, and supportive family in my husband, three children, and mother. Recently, our daughter married her best friend. It was a celebration of Joy for our family. Our sons are entering the home stretch of their college years. One day, upon retirement, my husband and I want to backpack Europe. We enjoy our family, camping, traveling, tennis, sharing times with friends, UTHS volleyball, and Augustana baseball. |

Mr. McMahon - Global Studies |
| My name is Jeremiah McMahon and I teach 7th grade Global Studies here at Wood. I graduated from Saint Ambrose University in 2005 with a teaching degree in History and a middle school endorsement. I’m a Davenport native as well as a product of the Davenport Community School District. I have always wanted to be a teacher and knew when I started college that I wanted to work with students in middle school because this is where my teachers had the greatest impact on me. When I’m not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family, especially chasing my one year old daughter. I also enjoy reading historical non-fiction and watching movies, especially sci-fi. I’m looking forward to another great year at Wood; if you have any questions don’t hesitate to call or email. |

Mrs. Ziegler - Reading |

Julie Ziegler is a new Reading Intervention teacher at Wood. She and her family moved to the Quad Cities from Michigan three years ago and they must be the only Michigan State fans in the area! She taught fourth grade in Lansing, then two years at Rivermont Collegiate here in Bettendorf and last year was lucky to teach 4th grade at Harrison Elementary in Davenport. She graduated with her B.S.I.S. from Texas A & M- Corpus Christi in 2001 with an emphasis in Reading. Her husband Mark spent 21 years in the U.S. Navy and is currently an electrical engineer for a company on the Rock Island Arsenal. They have one son, Travis, who is a sophomore at Bettendorf High School. The Zieglers all love to travel, read, watch/play football and wrestling and spend time with new Iowa friends. Please contact her with any and all questions. |
