Kindergarten students are learning about what makes a school community safe, fun, and successful! We have worked on our classroom and school procedures and are starting to get to work! We will be learning words quickly and using a handwriting program called “Handwriting Without Tears”! In science we will be studying “Living and Nonliving” and looking at our world around us! |

Second grade is getting ready to start our Treasures reading series with a great story about the first day of school for a little boy named David. We have been doing some science experiments to help learn about the scientific method and are ready to start observing insects. We are also working on a new program called Too Good 4 Drugs and we're learning how to set goals. |

Other Services:
Speech Services: My name is Melissa Schmidt and I work with all student ages/grades at Wilson Elementary on a variety of speech and language related issues. Some students work on sound productions to aid listeners in understanding them better, whereas other students are working on their language skills and being able to retell stories and include all necessary information. There are many other aspects of speech that students work on, but articulation and language are the two most common areas addressed with Wilson students. All speech goals are tailored to each individual student who needs them and a collaborative effort is made between the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), teachers, and parents. We are just getting underway with speech on September 8th and I look forward to another great year at Wilson! |
