Text Box: A Word from Mr. Schneden I am excited to be in my 2nd year at Wilson Elementary School. Wilson teachers are a hard working, dedicated staff who strive to provide the very best education to all students. The staff uses the Solution Focus model to find appropriate interventions for students who are struggling with academics and social skills. Wilson teachers are in their fourth year of learning and incorporating Reading First strategies into their daily lessons and reading interventions. This year we will begin incorporating daily Math Focus lessons and math interventions to continue supporting our students needs in all academic areas. Another aspect that makes Wilson great is our parent support, which is second to none. It is their continued support and participation that make Wilson the school to be at. We truly are “TAKING CARE OF EACH OTHER!!” Bully Prevention At Wilson, we are committed to providing a safe, comfortable environment that will provide the best learning experience for our students! Davenport Community School District is implementing a new “bully prevention” program which is much more of a way of “being”, rather than a curriculum. Keep an eye out for the signs of our new program around our building and the community! Mrs. Sievertsen is here to work with our families at Wilson and answer any questions you may have regarding our school. Mrs. Sievertsen’s office also provides a wealth of resources to our families including computers with internet access, reading materials, and skill practice materials for each grade level. Mrs. Sievertsen also assists with our family nights and other family activities.
