Williams Music Department

Welcome to the Williams Intermediate Music Department!

Our department consists of 6 teachers including the Instrumental Music directors of bands; Nora Reiter, director of the 6^th and  8^th grade bands and the Williams Jazz Band, and Debra Fraker and the director of orchestras, Julie Wince.  Dawn Andersen is the 8^th Grade Choir director and 6^th grade general music teacher, as well as the Show Choir Director.

We are pleased to introduce two new faces to the Williams Intermediate Music Department.  Chris Werner joins the vocal music department as the 7^th grade choir director.  He also teaches 6^th grade general music and will be conducting the 6^th grade chorus that begins in October.  Mr. Werner is a Williams and West High Alum and a recent graduate from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois.  He has extensive experience vocal music and vocal jazz and instrumental music as well, having played tenor saxophone during his high school years.  We are very happy to have Mr. Werner join us this year!

We also would like to introduce Mr. Michael McDermott in our instrumental department.  Mr. McDermott is directing the 7^th grade band this year, along with team teaching bands at North and also at Wood Intermediate.  He will be working at Buchanan and Fillmore with the beginning 5^th grade students as well.  We welcome him to Williams.
