Team Meeting Time
The 6th grade blue team meets daily. Teachers can be
contacted by phone or an appointment can be set up the following times:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 3:00-3:40 p.m or Wednesday from
2:05-2:40 p.m.

ITBS Tips for Success
Here are some helpful hints and
little things we can do everyday to help prepare our students to be successful
on the standardized tests.
 | Read a book with your child.
Take turns reading and discuss the story. |
 | Read a newspaper, magazine, or
other non-fiction and discuss what you read. |
 | Ask quality-thinking questions
such as; “What would you predict/ infer from______” or “What is the main
idea of _________?” |
 | Watch “Discovery for Kids” every
Saturday morning on NBC. |
 | Study pictures, graphs,
organizers tables, and talk about how to read them. |
 | Study basic multiplication
facts, make flash cards. Show you know 0-12 mentally. |
 | Cook and read recipes together. |
 | Talk about everyday math-
balanced checkbook, shopping, setting up a budget. |
 | Visit local library, museums,
botanical center, or planetarium at local colleges. |
 | Relate new vocabulary words to
concepts your child already knows. |
 | Model use of dictionaries,
glossaries, and thesaurus. |
 | Model use of graphic organizers. |
 | Encourage students to keep
journals. |
 | Search and visit educational web
sites on the Internet. |
