Riverbend Food Bank is hosting a Mobile food pantry in West’s parking lot THIS Wednesday, March 20. We need volunteers to help. If you are interested see or email Ms. O’Hare ASAP. We’d need you from about 4:15- 6ish….THANKS very much!
Hola Amigos!!! Don’t forget that this Friday, March 22, is our next Spanish Club event!! We’ll meet at the Blackhawk Hotel at 4:15. We will proceed to the lower level where the bowling alley is located. Remember, pizza and soft drinks will be provided at no charge. Please bring money to pay for one or two bowling games and the rental of bowling shoes if you don’t already have a pair.

West High Life Skills Department is hosting a trivia night in honor of Autism Awareness Month. Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 13. Doors open at 5:30; trivia starts at 6:30. Teams are made up of 8 people, with an $80 team entry fee. Get your teams together and come support your fellow falcons! Contact Mrs. Mandel in Room 158 to reserve a table.
West has talent! Do you have an act for our annual Variety Show? This event will be held Friday, May 10th, and tryouts will be Wednesday, April 3rd, after school. We need a variety of musical acts, comedy acts, and dance acts. Have fun, and if you can’t try out, please make plans to attend the big event Friday night, May 10th, in our beautiful West High auditorium.
Hey, West! It’s Peanut Butter and Jelly time! Student Senate and the Falcons’ Nest are having a First Block Class Contest to raise jars of Peanut Butter and Jelly for the Nest! Which first block class can donate the most PB & J? The competition will end on Friday, March 29th. During first block, first-floor classes can take their donations to the Activities Office. Second-floor classes can take their donations to the Guidance Office. The TOP 3 classes that raise the most PB & J will be rewarded with Hy-Vee breakfast pizza and drinks on April 3rd.
We are having our cheerleading clinics and try-outs after Spring Break. Squads will be chosen for our Co-Ed Competition Team, Varsity & JV Football Cheer Squads, V & JV Basketball Cheer Squads, and V & JV Wrestling Cheer Squads for the 2019-2020 school year. Go Falcons!
