The West High Library Media Center is the place for information at WHS!
LMC Collection: Students can get help in using 120 computers, 18 online databases (14 from AEA9 and 4 from WHS Library), and a variety of online applications. Online databases are available both at home and at school. We have a collection of over 8400 fiction and non-fiction books, and a large collection of Manga and graphic novels. Students may request YA books for purchase by adding their requests to our library’s “Falcon birdcage.” Check out our materials at home by clicking on the library page and using our Destiny catalog and our Library Google Site.
LMC Hours: Our library staff is happy to help students, WHS staff, and parents from the hours of 7:35 AM to 3:00 PM. Students may come to the library or ask their teacher for a 7:35 morning pass to the library for the following day or see Mrs. Toppler about working in the library after school until 3:30 PM.

The Destiny Library system improves access to library and curriculum materials (which has been proven to be one of the factors that raises test scores and student learning), provides students access from any computer at school, home, or other location having an Internet connection, and also makes it easier for students to find materials at their reading level via the Lexile score feature.  From this link, you may also access educational databases by clicking on Iowa AEA Online.
