Student Responsibilities---60% of your grade

· Attendance 10 points… You’re either here or you’re not

· Dress… Students are required to wear the West High PE shirts and proper shoes, shorts or sweats. The days you forget your PE clothes, you will have the opportunity to participate.

NO DRESS 1-3 7 daily points (as long as you participate)

NO DRESS 4-6 5 daily points (as long as you participate)

NO DRESS 7+ 3 daily points (as long as you participate)

· Participation/ Skill 4 Students are to actively participate in all required units.

· Participation/ Aptitude 3 Students will show cooperation, caring, communication, and respect to teachers, peers, and equipment.

Skill Assessment---20% of your grade

Students will be assessed in various skills during each unit.

Example… Written description of skill, verbal description of skill, grade scale/skill demonstration, proper use of skill in a game.

Written Assessment---20% of your grade

Students will be assessed in a verbal or written manner during each unit.

Examples of what will be assessed… Rules, strategies, safety, vocabulary, understanding. Tests examples are… multiple choice, essay, matching.

Locker Room: Use your assigned locker and padlock. Lock your individual locker during each class with your personal belongings. It is the students’ responsibility to keep track of their individual items. The Physical Education Department is not responsible for your personal belongings. The long lockers are to be used during Physical Education class only.

Make-up PE: Any excused class can be made up in our make-up physical education session. This will be available Wednesday mornings at 7:10 am and Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at 2:50 pm in the YMCA gymnasium (enter through WHS hallway). You must be dressed in PE attire and attend 2 early birds for every class you miss.
