SCHOLARSHIPS:

The number one website to use for scholarship searches is www.fastweb.com.  Log in today and create a user account.  It is worth the time.
SCHOLARSHIPS:
UNIVERSITY OF IOWA PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM – DEADLINE DECEMBER 11, 2009.  The University of Iowa offers more than 1,500 scholarships each year to outstanding students based on financial need, merit, or both.  Students may receive multiple scholarships as long as the combined value does not exceed the total cost of education plus $1,000.  They offer 15 different scholarships for outstanding first-year students.  See Mr. Means in the Guidance Office for more details, and application, or you can go to www.uiowa.edu/financial-aid/scholarships.
UNITED STATES JCI SENATE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM - DEADLINE JANUARY 6, 2010.   Each year $1,000 grants will be awarded to graduating high school seniors in the United States, who plan to continue their education at accredited post-secondary colleges, universities or vocational school.  The number of grants awarded annually will be at the discretion of the United States JCI Senate Foundation.  Scholarship Application downloads available on web site, www.iajcisenate.org.
HERBERT HOOVER PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY ASSOCIATION, HOOVER UNCOMMON STUDENT AWARD –DEADLINE MARCH 31, 2010.  This is a project-driven program reflecting Herbert Hoover’s talents for Iowa High School Juniors.  Applicants are selected as finalists in the spring of their junior year based on a project proposal and two letters of recommendation. A selection committee awards three $5,000 scholarships for study at any accredited two or four year college or university anywhere in the country.  Additionally, finalists each receive a check for $750 for completing and presenting their projects.
US BANK INTERNET SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM - Scholarship online applications will be accepted from October, 2009 through March, 2010.  This year again the US Bank will award up to thirty $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors planning to attend accredited two- or four-year colleges full time next fall.  Scholarship award recipients are selected through a random drawing process.  Application can be found at www.usbank.com/studentbanking
ASHFORD UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP, DEADLINE NOVEMBER 23, 2009.  Being rewarded for your grades has never sounded better.  Consider all of the hard work you’ve put in to achieve top grades throughout your education.  Now consider that those grades may be your ticket to a full tuition scholarship at Ashford University in Clinton Iowa.  If you have achieved a GPA of 3.00 or above, you may be eligible to receive one of three new academic scholarships available through Ashford University. •Dean’s Scholarship 3.00 to 3.24 this scholarship awards $10,000 toward your tuition.  •Provost’s Scholarship 3.25 to 3.49 this scholarship awards $12,500 toward your tuition.  •Presidents Scholarship 3.50 and up, this scholarship awards $15,720 toward your tuition.  Apply for admission at 1-800-242-4153 or on line at www.ChooseAshford.com
