    West Student Awarded 3rd Place for Bechtel History Scholarship

    Katie Griffith was chosen as one of the 5 finalists for the Bechtel History Scholarship. She presented her paper on May 28 and was awarded 3rd place,  a $1000 scholarship. She was the only finalist from West.  Congratulations to Katie.

    Please congratulate Diamond Combs, as she has been selected to be a member of Team Iowa, for the 17th Annual Senior All-Star Spotlight Meet.  This year’s meet will take place June 12th-13th, at The University of Dubuque. This is the first West athlete selected in my 6 years, so we are very excited about this honor. —Coach Rietz

    West High Pastel Team is the Bee’s Knees!




    The West High Pastel Team created an incredible 64-square foot pastel entry for the MidCoast Fine Arts Area High School Pastel Competition last Saturday, May 24th. The team was: Senior Brianna Hillyer, Juniors Mayli Grady, Kylie Baraclough, Sarah Davis, and Darius Klinkner, Sophomores Kaylee Gerdts and Katelyn Cox. They competed against 8 other area high schools. All of the creations will be on display in the second floor gallery at the Bucktown Center for the Arts on the corner of 2nd and Pershing Streets in downtown Davenport through the month of June. Anyone visiting the gallery should be sure to cast their people’s choice award for Davenport West High School. There will be an awards ceremony Friday, June 26, at 6:30 pm at the gallery.

    West’s Welding Boys Create Installation for Vander Park

    Student Senate Hosts Peach Fuzz Volleyball!
