West’s Prom Reenactment: A Cautionary Tale

West High School and sponsors (Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds; West High’s Leo Club,  Hickory Grove Auto;  Skeffington’s Men’s Formal Wear; Halligan, McCabe and Devries Funeral Home; Davenport Fire Department, Davenport Police Department, Med Force, and EMS staged a very realistic reenactment of a  drunk-driving accident on Prom night.  Senior Olivia Grubbs addressed the student body, reminding them that they are not invincible—bad things—irreversible things happen to teens—and what happens to them impacts many others.  The players:   Prom attendees: John Scalise, Ashley Switzer, Aiden Rush, and Roudaina Alzohby.  The family:  Mr. Chris Schlichting, Mrs. Tammy Roseman-Burton, Olivia Heller, and Vivian Bonde.  Hair and Makeup:  Hannah Fandel and Jessica Sheridan.  Everything came together to create a sobering dramatization powerful enough to prevent such a situation in real life.  Click here for more photographs.
