National Honor Society’s 28th Annual Induction Ceremony

Monday evening, April 15, marked West High’s National Honor Society’s 28th annual induction ceremony.  Sixty-three students were granted membership under the auspices of upholding the four objectives of Character, Service, Leadership, and Scholarship.  Each student selected for membership must have a 3.5 cumulative grade point average or higher as well as complete 15 hours of volunteerism along with the society’s group service projects.  This evening’s candlelight ceremony not only welcomed our new members, but it also said goodbye to the current 30 members who handed over their chords to the initiates.  Guest speaker Louis Means, 47-year-veteran West High Guidance Counselor, along with Head Principal Mike Lawler spoke during the ceremony to cap off this splendid evening.  Congratulations to our graduating and new members!
