Curriculum:
1st Quarter: Safety Procedures, Football, Soccer, Fitness Pre-Assessments, Life Skills.
2nd Quarter: Safety Procedures, Basketball, Rhythms/Dance, Fitness Development.
3rd Quarter: Safety Procedures, Tumbling, Volleyball, Fitness Development, Jump Rope.
4th Quarter: Safety Procedures, Dry Land Water Safety, Golf, Baseball/Softball, Track and Field, Fitness Post-Assessment.
Procedures:
Students are required to wear athletic shoes, to provide them with the proper balance, coordination, agility, and speed they will need to successfully perform many activities. They are not required to wear special uniforms, but proper loose fitting clothing is necessary for efficient movement. Please know what day your student has Physical Education class, so they can wear appropriate clothing, and be as successful as possible. All students are expected to behave in a manner consistent with the Life Skills adopted by our school as well as keeping everyone in our school safe. If a student makes the choice to not follow any of the procedures, or put others in danger of injury, our Physical Education staff follows the school discipline policy. Please contact me if there are any questions concerning discipline during Physical Education.
Daily Stretches/Exercises:
Butterfly, Superman, Rocking Chair, Right Thigh Stretch, Left Thigh Stretch, Mountain Climbers, Bicycles, Toe Touches, Right Leg Balance, Left Leg Balance, Splits, 10 Knee Ups, 30 Ski Jumps, 10 Push-Ups, 10 Jumping Jacks with everyone starting and finishing at the same time.
