Elementary students and their families celebrated reading by attending Walcott Elementary School's Breakfast with Books celebration, organized by reading specialist, Mrs. Thorud. Students enjoyed breakfast with their families in the school cafeteria. They learned about the public library's summer reading program. There were many more activities throughout the day, culminating in an all elementary school author visit by Gary Metivier.
