Library
"What a school thinks about its
library is a measure of what it thinks about education."
- Harold Howe, former Commissioner of Education
The mission of the
library media program is to ensure that students and staff are
effective users of ideas and information.
It’s amazing what an effect a mere 20
minutes a night can have on reading and writing skills!!

SCRA Grant Update:
Truman School received a grant from the Scott County
Regional Authority for $9, 919.00 in November. This grant
will be combined with other funds from the PTA, the Truman
School budget and the Davenport Schools Technology
Department to provide a computer and library update. Four
computers and tables have been purchased for the three 5th
grade classes so that they will be able to use the new
reading and math software that the school district has
available. The grant also will be used to buy new
non-fiction books for the Truman School library. So be on
the lookout for some of those new and colorful science and
social studies books! A great big thanks to the Truman PTA
and the SCRA for helping us provide students with the
resources they need to be successful. |
