School meals are economical, often costing less than what you spend to prepare meals at home. The Food & Nutrition Services Department strives to keep the meal prices low while maintaining quality and nutritional standards. The larger portions and more variety increase the cost of meals to older students.

Although meals and milk can be purchased daily, prepayment for 5, 10 or 20 days is encouraged. Students are less likely to forget money or run out and it is more convenient for parents. Charging/credit meals are not allowed for students in grades 6-12. Cashiers will verbally remind the students when the account is low.
Unflavored milk is available in 1% fat and fat-free (skim). Fat-free chocolate milk is offered daily. Strawberry milk is offered on an occasional basis. The meal price includes 1-8 oz. carton of milk. Additional cartons of milk may be purchased for $.55 per carton. This includes the purchase of milk to accompany meals brought from home.
Intermediate and High schools offer a variety of snack items and beverages for purchase, including cookies, baked chips, water, 100% juice, and Gatorade. If you wish to limit snack purchases, limits may be placed on an account by contacting the site manager directly. The site manager and the Food & Nutrition Office is able provide a history of spending if desired.

The Child Nutrition Program offers nutritious breakfasts and lunches at every school building. Proper nutrition is fundamental for the success of academic programs. Our meals meet the new USDA Nutrition Standards, which requires the following:
- Age-appropriate calorie limits
- Larger servings of vegetables and fruits (students must take at least one serving)
- A wider variety of vegetables, including dark green and red/orange vegetables and legumes
- Fat-free or 1% milk (flavored milk must be fat-free)
- More whole grains
- Less sodium
