The
Comprehensive School Improvement Plan or CSIP is
a detailed plan of actions for accomplishing our
2007-2012 goals. In addition to the
district-wide CSIP, each individual school develops
its own Improvement Plan for supporting the CSIP
goals.
Creating and sustaining a high
performance education environment takes both
dedication and thoughtful planning. The CSIP is a
planning document, featuring both broad-based
perspectives on the priorities of public education
in our community and specific learning goals for
students. These goals provide an important measure
of accountability.
The 2007-2012 CSIP was
developed with the direct and considerable input of
teachers, students, parents, our Board members,
interested community members and district leadership
– with much of the input coming through the formal
Local School
Improvement Advisory Committee (LSIAC) process.
This 70+ member group represents a wide variety of
individuals interested in public education who meet
on a regular basis to review district data and
discuss expectations for learning. If you would
be interested in serving on the LSIAC, please feel
free to contact Laura Lortz at 336-5088 or via
email at
lortzl@davenportschools.org.
Community sessions on the new CSIP for
interested agencies and community members were held
in September 2007 and feedback was generated on next
steps for community involvement with the CSIP.
As a district, we are committed
to focusing our time, our energy and our resources
on providing a quality education for all of our
students. We will strive to continue to
“Think Big” about our future.
