| Smart Intermediate School counselors (Mrs. Duyvejonck and Mr. Hahn) are available to assist students in a variety of ways, all with the goal in mind of helping the student succeed in school (and in life!). Counselors can help students deal with school issues (teachers, peers, academics, etc.), family issues (parents, sibling(s), etc.), personal issues (anger/emotion management, social skills, self-esteem, substance abuse, sexuality, etc.), or any concern a student may have and would like to discuss. Under most circumstances, what a student chooses to discuss with the counselor is confidential (or private). Your counselor will discuss with you those circumstances when the counselor is obligated or required to share information disclosed to them. Students can stop by the counselor(s) office to schedule an appointment with a counselor, or can leave a written message for the counselor and we will get back to you! Also, parents/teachers may contact the counselor(s) to request that an appointment be scheduled or to discuss any concern that they may have in regard to a student.
