EXTENDED PLANNED ABSENCE There are occasions when a student will need to be absent from school for an extended period of time. Request for the necessary absence needs to be in writing by a parent or legal guardian several days in advance of the extended absence. Absence must be approved and arrangements made with teachers for make-up work prior to the absence. The student will secure a special form from the main office in advance and have it completed by parents,  teachers,  and administrators. Failure to follow this procedure will result in consequences similar to truancy.
