The faculty and staff at Smart Intermediate School promote a learning community for students, staff, and families who share in the responsibility of providing rigorous standards for educational and social development in preparation for the challenges of high school and beyond.
Response to Intervention
Response to Intervention is a process that schools use to help children who are struggling academically or behaviorally. The Davenport Community Schools use “data teams” of teachers at the school level to examine student work and assessment data to identify and better serve the needs of students having poor learning outcomes. These teams establish a plan for evidence-based interventions and monitor student progress, adjusting the intensity and nature of those interventions as needed to improve student learning.
