INTERNAL BOARD OPERATIONS
Board Committees
The board
committee structure includes the Committee of
the Whole, Standing Committees, and Temporary
Committees.
If, based
on the duties assigned by the Board, a committee has
decision-making or policy-making authority; the
committee will be subject to the Chapter 21 (Open
Meetings) provisions. If the committee does not
possess any decision-making or policy-making
authority, it would not be a governmental body
subject to Chapter 21 (Open Meetings).
Committee of the Whole
Consists
of all board members and meets regularly to discuss
issues relevant to the district.
Standing Committees
Consists
of two, and no more than three, board members and
may include administrative representatives and are
established by the board on an as needed basis.
Temporary Committees
Consists
of no more than three board members and other
appointed members convened to complete a specified
task that will be outlined at the time the committee
is established.
A
temporary committee shall be considered dissolved
when its final report is made and received by the
Board.
Such
appointments will be made part of the board minutes,
indicating the duties of such committees.
